Graham Norton says trans people ‘need to be protected, rather than feared’

“I feel like trans people are a very vulnerable group and a tiny group,” he said. “And it’s been conflated into this thing, as if there are trans armies coming over the hills.”

That beard obviously has no fucking clue what he is talking about.
Has he ever taken the time to read all the tweets that tell women to choke on girldicks? I guess not.

“I feel like trans people are a very vulnerable group”

Men sure base a lot of their ideas on nothing more than feelings. Dude you're free to feel as you want, but the facts don't bear you out.

I mean, they're vulnerable to con-artists telling them that cosmetic surgery is good for them. Not sure that's what he was going for.

A tiny, vulnerable group that manages to get women labelled 'uterus havers', get women fired from their jobs, get women banned from twitter, etc, for simply speaking about biological reality and their rights.

Yeah, sure. "tiny and vulnerable"

And half the TIMs in prison are there for sexual assault and rape. And these “vulnerable” men are increasingly put in women’s prisons. I suppose Graham Imbecile Norton would do a NoTrueTrans with them.

The 'armies' are the hordes of men's rights activists using trans as a very effective battering ram against women.

They used to be a tiny group but now the trans umbrella includes: drag queens, part time cross dressers, genderfluid, genderqueer, full and part time transwomen and transmen, non binary and so and so forth to the point where I read the other day that almost a quarter of young people now identify as ‘trans’. A quarter is not tiny.

Also covers aagender and asexual. About every other post on any lgbt related sub is something that has fucking zip to do with same sex attraction. I feel bad for today's lgb youth.

Did he really just throw out the idea that extremists in groups need to exist to create middle ground? I think the extremists create polarization and leave the real vulnerable people unsafe and without help.

Aw, now I have something to post in that “what’s been ruined for you?” thread.

Sorry. :) I have a book by him on my reader. Might delete it right away.

I have a theory that white gay men tend to project themselves in the trans narrative. Since they do not date women and often surround themselves mostly by other men, they don't really have access to the other side of the coin.

So they have the impression that TIMs are oppressed because they think of the oppression gays lived before and they don't really see how it impacts real women.

Not an excuse, but if we manage to understand it might be easier to argue against that.

Very disappointed though.

That's interesting and I could see that. I think they also just will always defend their fellow men over women, so that's part of it too.

[–] bellatrixbells 1 points (+2|-1)

That's possible. I don't know if it was always like that, but in the past twenty or so years it seems as they gained more and more social acceptance, many young gay men just pretty much lived a life away from girls and misogyny developed.

And I know there’s some aggression, but any group looking for equality and progress will only get there if there’s an extremist vanguard, and that’s how you shift things to the middle ground.

Is this asshole really downplaying the violence "transwomen" threaten women with? They've got no sympathy from me and luckily their violence has been recorded and archived on various platforms. I don't coddle violence from men no matter what they identify as.

[–] Nurvilya [OP] 3 points (+3|-0)

I'd take a wild guess and say he never saw any of that violence, because he doesn't look for it. Ignorance is bliss!

Why are so many gay men on board with this shit?

I mean, I know they are as misogynistic as other men, and they don't care about lesbians (the ones that transition and the ones that not) and are not afraid to say no to the transgays🙄 And they are behind the erasure of women in language, especially mothers, because it's easier to buy babies if you pretend they came out of nowhere, and they are ok with transvestism, but what about the men with dysphoria? the boys who are being sterilized?

Then don’t do things that hurt women.

I’d have no reason to fear you if you didn’t constantly try taking away my rights and dignity.
