Leaders in the Valley's transgender community tell us this is a nightmare for them too because if someone who calls herself a transgender woman is sexually harassing people, she put an already marginalized community in a bad light.

Karen Adell Scot, a local transgender advocate, even offered to train Naomi's House employees on how to recognize people just pretending to identify as the opposite gender.

Pray tell, Karen, how do we recognize those just pretending to identify as the opposite gender?

If they get caught doing something bad, AND the public finds out, then they aren’t trans.

Is that helpful?

[–] hellamomzilla 26 points (+26|-0)

First they have penises. Which are female.

I'm already done with this fucking year.

How much does Carl, excuse me Karen, want for his consulting fee?

A child can point out which genitals belong to which sex

[–] kyria 8 points (+8|-0)

And - how exactly are they marginalized? Because I haven't noticed.

[–] Verdandi 7 points (+7|-0)

Nobody wants to fuck them. They consider that "marginalization".

Nastasis says she got along with some of the women who filed the lawsuit and everybody treated her with respect. She joins them in questioning whether the person accused of sexual harassment is being honest about their status as a transgender woman

The "not really trans" argument is so eyeroll worthy.

What the hell kind of homeless shelter forces people to shower in groups, anyway? That's seriously creepy especially given the "good" TIM's statement that the shelter didn't force women to shower with him.

Agreed! I would feel uncomfortable being naked even around other biological women that I am not familiar with, the main exception being doctors...

[–] XX_Power 26 points (+26|-0)

I agree, although I'd rather shower with 100 stranger women than one man, normal or trans identified.

[–] Moonlight [OP] 14 points (+14|-0)

Same here! I'm not comfortable being naked around dudes at all! Even the ones that I am familiar with! It would just feel... Like something is off even if he won't show any improper behavior...

[–] BleepBloop 11 points (+11|-0)

Got along with some

As in this particular he didn't hit on all of the homeless women.

[–] TerfSedai 43 points (+43|-0)

Wow, shower curtains! What an amazing, thoughtful solution that benefits everyone! Gosh, that is just so smart.

[–] RikkiTikkiTavi 48 points (+48|-0)

Just what I was thinking. Flimsy sheets of plastic - just what is needed! I know I would feel safe and secure showering with an abusive man as long as there was a shower curtain between us.

I’m going to get some for when I walk to my car at night

I love how the TRA TIM advocate is going to work with them to know who isn’t really a transwoman. So is selfID a thing or isn’t it?

They should have known that offending TIM wasn’t really a True Scottsman.

If he gets caught misbehaving AND the public finds out, then we know he really isn’t a transwoman.

This shit never fails to make me mentally facepalm. It doesn't matter whether the person is 'true trans' or not - your stupid fucking policies clearly allowed him in either way.

They'll be trained by Layla Moran.

In the UK some credulous adults old enough to know better have fallen for this nonsense too. A case in point is Liberal Democrat MP and party leadership contender Layla Moran who identifies as “pansexual”, and in a Westminster debate claimed to be able to see beyond the material sex of bodies and into the gender of an individual’s “soul”.

[–] vulvapeople 1 points (+1|-0)

"Real" TIMs are just as capable of being harassing pervs.

[–] Carrots90 0 points (+0|-0)

I’m sorry. I keep forgetting the /s.

Im making fun of how ‘anyone who says they are trans is trans’ unless they embarrass us or get caught being....men. Then they are no true trans

[–] vulvapeople 1 points (+1|-0)

I picked up on that. I was furthering your challenge to the TRA claim that any sexually harassing/violent man in a dress isn't a "real" TIM. They're just as capable of male-pattern toxic behavior since they are men.

[–] ByzantineOtter 43 points (+43|-0) Edited

This stuff is getting more and more traction in the mainstream left-slanted media. People are not going to be able to plead ignorance (however much they might want to) for very much longer. The lines are going to be drawn once and for all, and everyone will have to pick a side.

[–] Flower_tsuji 27 points (+27|-0)

God I hate men..... and society is just letting this shit happen.

If anyone is upset by this today, please take a moment to go to Activism sub, and write to the Richmond City Council who is voting on this THIS AFTERNOON TODAY. There are sample scripts in the comments for phone messages, and there are sample scripts in the comments for emails. Even if you can just send one.

[–] nemesis 5 points (+5|-0)

I'm not from Richmond, but do you think I can still contact the council on my opposition to their proposed policy? Or do you think that could end up making them question if any of the people opposing are actually from there?

[–] Lilypad9999 5 points (+5|-0)

Thanks for asking! I never said I was from there, and I still sent them information about how this has affected women in other cities. That said, they are actually meeting now so I'm not sure if they would get the message.

[–] Lumos 24 points (+24|-0)

If you can’t kick him out for being a man, why can’t you kick him out for behaving inappropriately? Surely they’d kick a woman out for doing the same things?

I know the issue is they’re afraid of the backlash.

[–] vulvapeople 0 points (+0|-0)

Trans privilege. A woman wouldn't get a pass like this. I doubt a man in a men's shelter would either.

[–] wildpansy 21 points (+21|-0)

Let's face it, the reason this is happening and TRAs are still dominating the media narrative is because the victims are poor. The obvious injustice here should be clear for anyone to see, but people aren't seeing it because only the rich have voices in woke capitalism. It's a women's issue obviously, but it's also a poor issue, because this is never going to happen to well-off women, the educated woke ones that are telling everyone else what the "progressive" point of view is. Being a rich woman is going to get better in the future no matter what, now that feminism is mainstream, but being a poor woman will be a lot worse because the dominant form of feminism doesn't care about the kind of women who need to live in shelters and prisons.

This is such an important point. All the women I know who are behind this stuff stand about a zero percent chance of ever setting foot in a shelter or a jail.

[–] Verdandi 2 points (+2|-0)

Have you pointed that out to them? What do they say?

I'm not out as an apostate to most of my social group, but in the arguments I've had this point hasn't been terribly effective.

One person tried to turn it around by saying that I didn't either. When I told her about my adolescent experiences with those very institutions, she decided the conversation was about my trauma and how it was causing me to be irrationally fearful. For wokies, personal experience only matters if they like what you're saying.

I've come to the conclusion that direct argument is more or less pointless; maybe someone more tactful than me could make it work, but I seem to just make people dig in their heels.

Now I just ask questions in the hopes that people will do some thinking and maybe start reading on their own.

[–] Griffxx 18 points (+18|-0)

I remember this case when it was first filed. It wasn't just the shower, where he watched them with a semi erect penis. It's all thing inappropriate Heterosexual men do: try to corner a woman in a doorway or against a wall; constantly staring at there chest area. During meals they would talk about how horny he was. Would even talk about the size of his dick.

"Not A True Trans" is denying that they have sexual predatory men in their Community.

[–] [Deleted] 16 points (+16|-0)

The women say they repeatedly complained to staff members, but were told if they didn't respect the person's decision to identify as a woman, and if they refused to take showers at the same time, they'd get kicked out of the shelter

Fire whatever woke, piece-of-shit staff members did this.
