My google news feed recommended this gold mine of hilarity to me and I thought you ladies might enjoy it, too:

https://www.themarysue.com/gina-carano-called-out-for-transphobic-twitter-presence/amp/

So Gina Carano is an actress on the Mandalorian who wasn't really down with twitter bio pronouns. One of her (male) costars patiently explained to her why it was important for The Cis to proclaim pronouns and omg you guys she just... refused to be educated!!

She tweeted: "I won't be putting them in my bio but good for all you who choose to. I stand against bullying, especially the most vulnerable & freedom to choose."

What a monster, right? So then some more twitter jackasses came along and harassed her about it, at which point she proclaimed her pronouns to be beep/bop/boop. I mean, this is the crowd that decided that it was a good idea to use fae/faer so you'd think they'd be fine with these. Nope. She's "mocking" them, she's "cruel", she's "transphobic". Someone actually took a screenshot of another tweet she made explaining this and put a fucking trigger warning on it, because nothing kills trans folx faster than someone publicly failing to validate them.

So of course they decided to look at everything she's ever tweeted and apparently she also doesn't have Approved Opinions on masks and possibly(?) BLM and worst of all she's white so let's cancel the Mandalorian. Or, as the enlightened soul who penned this godawful crybaby article concluded, "Oh well, at least baby Yoda remains an unproblematic king." Because as we have all learned, the best way to be unproblematic is to never say a single word.

She's a badass if she's the one I am thinking of. I loved her in The Mandalorian, she's strong and tough as hell. I think IRL she's a professional martial artist who only just got into acting.

Edit: Ha! Yeah, that's her. She's fucking great on that show. Not surprised she's got GC or rad fem tendencies to be honest. She just seems GNC in such a good way. 💪

She was the "original" Ronda Rousey, basically. She's definitely not going to be down with this gender crap, being a female athlete.

I saw the film Haywire, and in it she has one of the most realistic fighting scenes I've ever seen on film. It's actually worth watching for that alone, if you like fighting scenes. I looked her up after that and realized why it was so good, she knows what she's doing.

Just wow at those people. They're like "that horrible piece of trash is so mean!!! :'( such a nasty piece of trash person; if only she were nicer! Trash!"... I know they can't hear themselves, but... Can they not hear themselves?

(Also, sad nostalgia for back when the Mary Sue was fun to read...)

It's so ridiculous how they demand women 'be nice' while saying 'punch terfs' and wishing women would die who disagree with them (and only want to protect women... no evil intent).

It seems like so long ago that it was possible to read the Mary Sue without cringing.

I agree with her on the whole BLM thing, those protests can't be safe, I've seen 0 social distancing. Heck, half the time I see people not wearing and/or pulling down their masks in videos. How is going to your place of worship, where they'd probably implement social distancing and mandatory masks, more dangerous than being in a giant crowd of people?

I hate call out culture and cancel culture.

Good for Gina Carano for standing her ground.

"In GLAAD’s “Tips for Allies” guide, they encourage folks to share their pronouns because “This sends the message that you are not making assumptions about anyone’s gender, and that people are free to self-identify.” "

Ok but what if you don't believe in gender and do not believe people should be free to self identify ???

Because then again if you can identify as the other sex, why can't you identify as another ethnicity, or another age ? And why should I have to call Dave the 6'3" metalhead a woman ? Ughhh

Ok but what if you don't believe in gender and do not believe people should be free to self identify ???

Then you're a Nazi, clearly. /s

I stand against bullying"

Wow, someone famous calling it out for what it is.

But I thought everyone's gender was valid?

If non-binary gender is valid, then obviously Binary (as in computer programming) gender must also be valid. Beep gender is valid if boop says that's how boop identifies. It's really not hard to alter your language to accommodate vulnerable minorities.

Now, that is hilarious. I'm not familiar with her work (was never a star wars fan) but this is the first time I've seen someone famous use joke pronouns. Good on her, lol

Crush the woman who has the balls to speak loudly, praise the corporation for creating a new gimmick character for all to worship. Sounds like a capitalist’s dream.
