“A records request reveals that Mr. Rice (incredibly) had called the police to falsely report that he had been ‘sexually harassed’ by Mrs. H,” stated Liberty Counsel in its July 12 letter. “He can be heard on his 911 call, following Mrs. H. across the parking lot of the establishment, over into the next parking lot, calmly relaying to the dispatcher his and Mrs. H.’s appearances, a description of Mrs. H.’s vehicle, and the direction in which she was headed. The fact that he was and is a man was evident to the dispatcher, who repeatedly refers to him as ‘sir’ on that call. No police report was filed.”

[TIM] also said that, “She may feel uncomfortable, but I feel like my life's in danger anytime someone approaches me like that.”

Come. The fuck. On. You were the one who stalked her and you still dare to say you felt endangered? Piece of fuck. Glad this case got thrown back.

Yeah, what I came here to say: it's incredible how this man thinks his exaggeration of the situation is somehow credible. He was a dude on the phone with the police after a woman informed him she was uncomfortable, but somehow this made him feel like his life is in danger? How? Who was threatening him? Was there any way this woman was any threat to him?

It's this permeating delusion that whatever you think or feel is REAL and overrides whatever is actually happening - not only for themselves but it should now be the reality for everyone involved...lunacy!!!

[–] tacocat 31 points (+31|-0)

I feel like it's retaliation for women feeling danger from strange men and talking about it. All the NAMALT assholes have a "turn-about is fair play" attitude about it, whether it's conscious or not. They have no empathy and are so completely entrenched in their solipsism, that they can't imagine that being half the size of a person and being afraid that person might harm them. They can't imagine having a history where stronger people have hurt them or threatened them. They can't imagine having to tread carefully in the minefield of the emotions of someone who could beat the living shit out of them without any trouble at all.

They think it's a fucking game, like the stupid little boys they are.

He’s been able to claim being a woman and getting away with it for the most part, why would he think any other exaggeration or flat out lie wouldn’t work?

[–] pennygadget 6 points (+6|-0)

How? Who was threatening him? Was there any way this woman was any threat to him?

He probably believes every female has a squad of cuck admirers she can summon to beat up other males. This is a prevalent theory among incels

[–] SamuraiGhostCat 32 points (+32|-0)

I love the 911 operator calling him “sir” the whole time 😂😂

[–] Verdandi 15 points (+15|-0)

He should have found a pay phone and called 911 to report he was actively being attacked by the other 911 operator.

[–] pennygadget 18 points (+18|-0)

Such a feminine thing to do! I know whenever I feel threatened by a scary stranger in a parking lot, I follow them across multiple parking lots like a stalker. Isn't that right, ladies? /s

[–] Verdandi 5 points (+5|-0)

Hahaha, totally!

It's not like when I would have to hide in my store after my shift and wait for my stalkers to get bored and leave! Or like how I actually had to park in a different undisclosed place and get a ride the two blocks to my store from a trusted coworker because they knew which one was my car and would wait by it! I loved having to sneak out of the back and try to jump in my co-workers car before my crazy stalkers noticed!

(just 2 but they were terrifying enough, one said he hoped we would sell a box big enough for him to take me away in, back to his original home state. Then he laughed like he was flirting. No, we don't sell coffins here and please jump in front of a train)

[–] bellatrixbells 8 points (+8|-0)

I wonder if he corrected her at any point during the call. I thought being called "sir" would be a major source of dysphoria.

But I assume while you're trying to dox a woman you forget you're supposed to play a part.

[–] Verdandi 5 points (+5|-0)

He needs to face some legal consequences for that stalking and intimidation.

[–] assignedcopatbirth 49 points (+49|-0)

This is from 2018, I wonder if the same judgement would be upheld today. Good to know Planet Fitness is total trash though - that second story was horrific!

[–] Dark_Mercy 50 points (+50|-0)

Right? This guy was clearly watching women-- we are told by TRAs that if anything happens just report it-- but like we thought it doesn't fucking count.

[–] tacocat 22 points (+22|-0)

This is how we know they are men. They are believed when they say something. Truth doesn't enter into it.

[–] shewolfoffrance 16 points (+16|-0)

He apparently spent an hour at the gym putting on makeup in the locker room. Not weird at all.

[–] pennygadget 4 points (+4|-0)

He apparently spent an hour at the gym putting on makeup in the locker room. Not weird at all.

What? You don't enjoy spending hours dolling yourself up in sweaty, smelly, humid public locker rooms?

[–] pennygadget 6 points (+6|-0)

Businesses are terrified to kick TIMs out because they don't want to deal with the lawsuits. So the only way they can legally do it is if the TIM causes provable physical harm or is caught red handed filming women in these spaces.

Ironically, businesses have the legal right to toss out biological females who cause distress/bother to others. But they can't do it to men because they become a protected class the moment they put on lipstick

[–] Kevina 25 points (+25|-0)

I can't find whether the lower court case has been decided since it has been sent back. It looks like the gist of it is that companies will now have to warn customers that they may encounter penis anywhere they go.

[–] sarahsmile 26 points (+26|-0)

Or be forced to make a decision: your female customers, or your male customers who want to infiltrate female spaces.

[–] Kevina 22 points (+22|-0)

True, but I'm sure we know what will happen. Planet Fitness will bury this in the member agreement and women will continue to be harassed and leared at by these " trans women".

[–] Freyja 39 points (+39|-0)

In the future, can you please add the date to the title?

I'd also like to refute the claim that only right-wing sites covered this, made by @womancup. I will agree that it tends to be right-wing sites that cover stories like this, this one in particular was covered across a number of local Michigan news sites.

Was covered at least a couple of times on MLive, which is considered fairly 'neutral'.

The Detroit News also had a couple pieces concerning this. They are rated as "Right Center" w/ "highly factual" reporting. Despite the "right center" rating, they have an opinion piece that deems Cormier as transphobic.

The Detroit Free Press is rated as "left-center", also with "highly factual" reporting & had at least 5 articles regarding this:

WXYZ Detroit (Channel 7 ABC) is another local news provider, one of the bigger local MI TV news stations. Not rated on mediabiasfactcheck, but I think it's fair to say it'd be rated either center or left-center. Also covered this story:

This thing of having a "judgement-free" policy seems to boil down to telling women that their reasonable judgements as to their safety must be jettisoned.

[–] salty-tomorrow 11 points (+11|-0)

Yes. I hate that we’re ~not allowed~ to judge people these days. There’s an evolutionary reason humans are so judgmental—it’s for our safety! I’m going to judge people all I want, thank you.

[–] Verdandi 4 points (+4|-0)

Definitely judge the guy with the blond mustache wearing a Member's Only jacket while driving a white windowless van.

Judge him hard.

[–] BluecatSarah 0 points (+0|-0)

One of the things that peaked me was an utter rant on Facebook written by the 23 year old son of a friend telling some young women at his university that they had no right to express any concerns for their safety when an obviously male - bearded, muscular - person entered the women's loos wearing a skirt. There was so much relish from him to be telling women that they have no right to make a reasonable judgement as to their personal risk.

[–] bellatrixbells 16 points (+16|-0)

"She may feel uncomfortable, but that's irrelevant. All that matters is that I can go into the women's room to apply makeup for hours at a time and if one of them tells me I make them uncomfortable I'm gonna say I feel like my life is in danger."

You seriously don't think we feel in danger when a fucking man stands in the middle of a locker room applying makeup for an hour while we change and shower ??

[–] Verdandi 9 points (+9|-0)

Nobody does their makeup that long at a gym, most women don't do it at all. I've actually NEVER seen it now that I think about it. You're so sweaty you want to go home and shower in privacy.

So yeah, I would feel incredibly unsafe because a man standing at a mirror for an hour is clearly watching all the naked and changing women in the mirror. He pretends to apply makeup (for a fucking HOUR???) while leering at women in their most vulnerable state.

[–] bellatrixbells 2 points (+2|-0)

I have seen it at the pool. Personally I wash my hair cause I need to apply conditionner otherwise the pool water just makes it very tangly and coarse and it's just uncomfortable. I have definitely stayed for quite a while in front of the mirror to dry it afterwards, especially in the winter. And I definitely have seen other girls do the same and apply like, mascara and maybe some lipstick but a full face... Nope.

This guy most definitely sounds like he's just looking for an excuse to enjoy the show. You're absolutely right.

[–] NO 11 points (+11|-0)

I’ve been wondering how this case turned out, I’m glad real women were prioritized.

[–] shopgirl 9 points (+9|-0)

I'm shocked that this was dismissed by the trial court and the Court of Appeals - that seems craaazy to me, who are these judges???

[–] bornwithovaries 3 points (+3|-0)

This article talks about two separate PF situations with men in the locker room. In the Michigan case, an additional and interesting detail I don't think they mention here (I didn't read the whole article though) is that the guy left his purse hanging on a hook out in the open. No woman would ever do that with her purse. It makes me wonder if he had a camera planted in there. Another PF location, can't remember where, has also been on the hot seat for not informing its female clientele for about a month (if I'm remembering the details correctly) after discovering that someone had planted cameras in the women's tanning-bed area.

I don't give a rat's ass if PF is a "judgment-free zone," I want gyms everywhere to be sexual-harassment-free zones. Which means no putting males of any sort in the women's areas, ever. They can "identify" as whatever the fuck they want somewhere else.

[–] KissMyOvaries 2 points (+2|-0)

Oh FFS. These men have ZERO clue what it’s like to feel like your life is in danger. ZEEEEEEERO.

And I’m damn tired of hearing how scared they are.
