I'm getting emotional. Despite all the TRA threats and smears, she persisted. Congratulations Maya, you're an inspiration to us all. Strong, brave, intelligent woman.

I'm getting emotional, too! This is SO important; imagine how many people will now feel like they can talk about being gender critical more freely at their job or university, since it's protected under the law!!! I'm so happy I'm going to have some chocolate to celebrate haha πŸŽ‰πŸ«

I want JK Rowling to rub this on everyone's face please

She'll be so classy and rise above it, but wouldn't it be nice, though? 🀣

I'm in the US but stayed up to wait for the news. Congratulations UK sisters! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Me too! I was just sick with worry, then dancing in the living room in my jammies with joy!

Same here. I couldn't sleep. This is great news for our UK sisters!!!

I hope this has a ripple effect and spreads to the states! Bless Maya for being strong and putting up with the abuse and slander to set this precedent!

The Bell case has been referenced in congress and in committees, so I believe there's hope that some are paying attention! I can't believe I have hope again!

Has Ellen/Elliot released an attention-grabbing 'statement' or photo yet?

[–] Qiobe 29 points (+30|-1)

Maybe Sam Smith can share important news about his moobs to take attention away from the verdict too?

They'd better get on it quick before events overtake them.

Perhaps a new tattoo of a child in his underwear?

So effing creepy.

On the other arm, he's going to get an old man in a feather boa and flouncy hat because only that will represent the duality of his nature.

You know, other than putting the body of an immature child on himself.

Yes yes yes yes πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰ Well done to Maya for her persistence. This landmark case will have widespread consequences, can't wait to see what will happen, especially with the atmosphere of Stonewall exodus

I love that BBC article emphatically states that she didn’t harass anyone at work. They’ve repeatedly lied that she did. I fell out with someone I once admired, an attorney, who repeated that slander.

I see this shit SO fucking often in the news over the last few years. They repeat lies over and over and then once the truth is so well-known it can't be denied anymore, they report the exact opposite (the truth), with no acknowledgment of the fact they were the ones spreading the lie most of all... it's disturbing! And even educated people (like the attorney you mentioned) are some of the biggest offenders.

I'm in the US and just woke up to this good news. It really does appear that the UK has peaked with all the organizations leaving Stonewall and now this landmark decision.

Can't wait for Stonewall/Chase to make some absolutely unhinged tweets in response
