This show has been stalled forever, but it's finally going to air in September. For those of you who aren't familiar with the source material, it's based on a pretty decent comic book where all of the men on Earth except one drop dead. Women literally inherit the planet.
Obviously the comic, once revered in geek circles, has been accused of being transphobic since anyone with a Y chromosone died. Transwomen aren't mentioned but they obviously died too as biological males. So the show is of high interest - both for having a nearly all-female cast and to see how they handle basic biological sex facts in today's era.
There is a transman character and Charlie Jane Anders is one of the show writers. I don't see how they can possibly change up the show mythology but if the dialogue changes to "only ciswomen and transmen and non-binaries survived!" or worse "this has killed half the men and women on earth!" I will be livid.
Still looking forward to it, and I'll probably reread all my comics this summer.
