Amazon has a prime day deal where you can get a few channels for 0.99 each a month for up to 2 months, so I added Acorn TV. I wanted to add PBS Masterpiece too, but don’t think I’ll have the time for both.

What’s good on Acorn? I’ll give almost anything a try, I especially like historic shows.

I’ve already seen (and love) Bomb Girls (women working in a WW2 bomb factory).

Definitely going to try Miss Fisher.

edit A stitch in time- amazing, a woman recreates clothes from paintings, she gets into why they dressed that way and historic techniques

I like the mystery and suspense dramas on Acorn. I don’t like American network tv. Almost none of the characters look like “real”; people but they do in British/French/German dramas. Acorn has more international dramas than BritBox but I subscribe to both.

Usually you can subscribe for a week and cancel it if you don’t like it, with no charge.

Ones on Acorn that I liked a lot (most with only one series):

*Bloodlands

*Innocent

*Deadwater Fell: Starring David Tennant. Good drama with a fairly easy to figure out who-dunnit.

*Silent Witness

*Hidden

*London Kills

*The Pembrokenshire Murders

*Above Suspicion

They carry oldies that I have also watched, such as Wire in the Blood.

They also have light mysteries, comedies, dramas such as Land Girls (haven’t watched), they also carry some PBS dramas but there is an extra charge which I refuse to do.

Others I haven’t watched: Miss Marple, Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries. More, too numerous to list!

Thanks!

I had Deadwater Fell on my list to try, I like Dave Tennant. Broadchurch was good too (on netflix).

I’m going to get Britbox at some point, I want to check out the original Dr Who.

I agree, I like how the actors look more like regular people.
