To clarify, this person suggested parents wouldn’t know their own child’s pronouns unless they asked. Also I guess the fact I have female characteristics doesn’t matter anymore? Apparently we mustn’t assume someone’s sex defines their pronouns lest we offend the tiniest sliver of society.

What pronouns should we use if we have to, say, talk about a doctor on behalf of our 5 months old child who can' t be called "they" because it' s NBs erasure, and can' t be called gendered pronouns because we haven' t been told what gender is the child yet? Should we just skip medical visit? 🤔🤔🤔

I guess “it” is still available. You should probably give that child to a lovely TIM who can indoctrinate it properly though, in a nice “safe-space” (echo chamber). You’ll only teach critical thinking and that’s so potentially harmful to trans people.

"The child in question" obviously. Don't ever resort to pronouns out of lazyness! /s

I mean, I would do it just to avoid drama in general, but I am pretty sure they would whine about not being "neutral and deserving specific pronouns" anyway.

Just look at the issues with them having sex without disclosing: they say that it's the "cis" person's responsibility to ask if they are trans, but being reminded that they are is triggering so you should just go with it.

I am a moron for expecting any kind of logic at this point, I know they just make up nonsensical bullshit as they need.

Per this post, you should never talk about anyone behind their back so... No visits until the child can self advocate :p

Yup, who cares if your kid is sick and you need to talk about how to proceed with the doctor, just let the kid suffer and die so that you don't risk misgendering!!!

Because that's the serious problem of our society!!!!

Schroedinger's Narcissists need that sweet, sweet power whether you're trying to desperately reach their constantly moving goalposts or pointing out their hypocrisies. They rig it so you can't not play the game.

We're all going to end up speaking like extra-terrestrials at this rate. "That young HUMAN, the HUMAN is attempting to feed with xir HUMAN MOUTHPARTS"

you shouldn't be talking about anyone you don't know behind their backs without good reason.

hold on ...

their backs

I did :( my whole point (a little obfuscated here because I’d gotten dragged into the whole “who would be bothered by non-gendered pronouns” debate) was that the teenage boy, who was wearing girls clothes and using a feminine nickname of his name, shouldn’t be called “they” because he MIGHT be trans or whatever.

Not sure why I bothered, there were so many comments like “this is definitely a trans girl” “can’t believe you haven’t considered your child might be trans” but this guy just got right under my skin with his whole maybe his parents should be calling him THEY so he’s COMFORTABLE TO COME OUT spiel

Nothing is more harmful than calling a toddler who is so young she doesn't even know there's a difference between girls and boys the wrong gender!

"nice of you to decide for everyone" isn't that what they are doing by telling the world how to speak?

I have used this a few times, "Why have you stopped using male or female sex to describe people?"
