Is this satire? Something lifted from an actual comic?

I thought the same thing! I mean, if I was going to make a parody of the TRA movement, sure, why not roast the niche Megamind fandom weirdos of tumblr, make the observation that they both happen to be in multiple identity groups, and the cherry on top is the little animal stating they're communist. If I had drawn this I'd be wrestling with choosing between it saying that or ACAB.

See, I didn’t even know a specific reference - I’ve never heard of Megamind.

I have never in my life seen the movie, but for a hot moment, several years after it's release, a small and weird community sprung up around it. I don't know how I end up knowing about these things. Maybe it's because the teenagers I work with tell me about it or draw me pictures, or maybe I just go a little too far down the internet rabbit hole!

Like, when you see a coy Megamind show up in the margins of their homework more than once, you just have to go look it up.

This is an insult to the movie 🤮

What movie?

Megamind. It's actually a great movie, it has nothing to do with gender specials.

They always have to make every character trans. It's so cringeworthy 😶.

They have no real heroes so they just trans up anyone that is either dead, or fictional.

-Joan of Arc? Trans -Morticia Addams? Trans -Katherine Hepburn? Trans -David Bowie? Trans -Marsha P. Johnson? Trans -Garfield the cat? Probably trans

They actually do like making Joan of Arc trans :/ can't have a strong female historical figure without turning her into a man!

And they just gloss over the whole “she dressed as a man because she wasn’t allowed to do what she wanted as a woman, thanks patriarchy” not because of any identity shit.

I've seen this meme all over the place in various fandoms from Resident Evil Village (someone had this conversation taking place between Lady D and Heisenberg ???) to Marvel Avengers to Star Wars and I still don't get it. Like I don't know why it's funny or catchy or what it's referencing. It just seems really cringy and like someone is trying too hard.

I feel like there was an original piece of art that was perhaps done in seriousness (I don’t know if this is it) and the rest are mocking parodies.

Edit: it looks like the original was a Little Mermaid colouring book “colouring corruption” that was very much a joke and the TRAs “reclaimed” it to make it serious.

Megamind is actually a good movie. The antagonist is a creepy nice guy who wants to fuck shit up when he realizes that the woman he lusts after doesn't want him even when he's muscular and powerful. And this movie came out 2010, before calling out Nice Guys was mainstream.

100%, this is my favorite part of the movie. Dudes out here thinking they're Hal Jordan when they're really Hal Stewart.
